peas in a pod

In case you had a doubt about how closely related and how intimately bonded these two dogs are:

Ladies of the lake II

Because once wasn't enough.

The handmaid's tale

During cottage time, Soleil was shedding in great clumps, and so her brush came out and Uncle Dan did the honours:

She hates it when I brush her, however she seemed to thoroughly enjoy the ministrations from Dan.

Perhaps too thoroughly. Somebody else got jealous:

And if all else fails, steal the brush:

If I close my eyes, maybe they won't see me... A proud thief.

Let's rub it in a little:

A smug grin:

Who, me? Butter wouldn't melt...

Can't catch me.... I might give it up for a back scritch, though...

Cottage coda

It's Saturday morning and cottage week is over: everybody's just gone their separate ways. In our case, it meant heading home, all of 5km away. The dogs had one last bash in the lake to put a capstone on a week of fun and sun. Now they'll simply have to make do with their swimming hole in Lake Rosseau again.

More hummingbirds:

A heron perched atop a tree, after being spooked from his fishing by the Labradors:

Beautiful clouds over the lake.

A canine welcoming committee for the incoming pedal boat:

More fun at the lake.
