Leaf poetry
Fiery hues of ochre, orange and scarlet
Crayon against a cerulean sky.
Invisible breeze swirls in the branches,
Chattering, rustling, whispering,
Composing in her own idiom.
Leaves dissolve into a spectrum of inks,
The wind dips in and out,
Scribbling colourful, lyrical notes:
Yellow verbs, red nouns, orange prepositions;
Combining, revising, madly, capriciously;
Fervently penning
A playful, nonsensical
Poem for the autumn.

Kiki, a youngster from across the road, manages to give Arwen a run for her money, on land and in the water.
