Monday miscellany

Some musings for a stormy Monday:

It can thunder just as violently in October as it can in July.

Soleil is frightened of the lights going out.

Arwen's trigger is thunder.

The cat could care less.

A cream cheese container being opened vanquishes all canine fear, at least temporarily. Ditto for the packet of oatmeal cookies.

I just changed the verb in the sentence above because I actually wrote tr***

More work seems to come in on Mondays than in the rest of the week combined.

Friday afternoons are also prone to a spike in the workload, as people offload tasks in time for the weekend.

The comments section in the newspaper is a horrible, horrible place.

(Facebook is not much better.)

(but at least it has cat dog videos)

(Best comment of the day award goes to: ''Hillary will win the election in a mudslide''.)

A photograph is a gift that can touch a person's heart.

10 degrees in October is much colder than 10 degrees in April.

It is possible to stress out over having too many books and magazines in the reading queue.

Why is it that there is a specific word for hating women (misogyny), but the corresponding one for hating men (misanthropy) actually means hating people? Semiotic inequality?

Whiskers are very difficult to paint.

I mean painting whiskers on a canvas, not painting on the whiskers of a living, breathing animal. Though that might be easier.

I need new running shoes.

Oil changes are a PITA.

I didn't write anything about running. Well, technically.

(but I wanted to)

I'm going to post this before the power goes off yet again, and turn my attention back to two needy Labradors who are presently competing to hatch my feet.

If you've read this far, Happy Monday (even if that is a bit of an oxymoron).
