As the years slip by...

This photo showed up as an 'on this day' memory today. Soleil, five years ago, at age two-nearly-three. She looked so much like what Arwen looks like now, at three years old.

The picture also made me realize how much white has appeared on my soon-to-be-eight-year-old ''pup's'' face:

Never give all the heart, for love

Will hardly seem worth thinking of

To passionate women if it seem

Certain, and they never dream

That it fades out from kiss to kiss;

For everything that's lovely is

But a brief, dreamy, kind delight.

O Never give the heart outright,

For they, for all smooth lips can say,

Have given their hearts up to the play.

And who could play it well enough

If deaf and dumb and blind with love?

He that made this knows all the cost,

For he gave all his heart and lost.

                                  --WB Yeats

Love the poem. But they, the pups give theirs and it is hard to hold back for us to them. Do Labs gray early? Myles' black has so much white. Makes me so sad to realize how short his life is in comparison to mine.

Still and always will be a young pup at heart.

True words.. and so many family and friends have a piece of that heart too..
