I was awakened at 04:00 to the sounds of a retching dog, and I discovered that Soleil had upchucked on the down duvet in the guest room.

Then at 05:30 it was Stripes' turn, this time on my quilt. 

You can't make this up. Serious props to anyone who has ever parented.

So it's been a laundry day today. On the plus side, it was done during the lowest billing rate period for hydro, because who actually chooses to do laundry before dawn?

This afternoon, en route to the dump, the jeep's check engine light came on, so now instead of getting an early start and heading down to the city for the weekend, I'll be at the local dealership waiting for diagnostics and estimates and repairs.

However...

Summer arrived today, in all of its warm, sunny splendour. Yesterday I did a rainy, windy run in full-length insulated tights and a jacket. Today was shorts and a tank top. There's something to be said for that.

And for random little daisies that sprout up in the lawn.
