settling in

February 19, 2020

Firstly, thank you for the warm welcome for Casey and for my reentry into social spheres. Work is keeping me incredibly busy, but I promised myself to try to keep posting sort of regularly.

Our pack of three is settling into a routine. The cat, on the other hand, is sulking in the cellar, in grumbling nonplussedness.

We all shared the bed last night, at least for a while. I've ordered a larger bed...no seriously, I have.

The two youngsters are having some magnificent playfights, and nobody comes out with a mark, though Arwen usually ends up with a sucked neck. They disappeared into the living room this afternoon for a tussle, and 10 minutes or so later Arwen came into the kitchen looking like the cat who ate the canary. I asked her what she had, and she carefully spat out a plastic squeaker. One of the stuffed toys had ''got it'' and Arwen had appointed herself resident safety officer.

I made dog biscuits today, and I had all three of them licking peanut butter off my hands. How's that for family dynamics?

No...it is not perfect. In fact it's much closer to organized chaos. But we are figuring it all out.
