Hello down there!!!

Another one of the joys of winter

Shovelling the roof.

Mail run - favourites

There were so many great photo opportunities on the day, but these three stood out as my favourites.

1. This one is actually not of a mail run participant, but of a resident of the village, who happened to drive by when I was perched atop the snowbank photographing the events. The phrase ''dog is my copilot'' comes to mind. I see G and Addie like this nearly every day, especially when I am running along Aspdin Road, and they drive by en route to their bush lot. These two are inseparable, and the stealth photo captures that.

2. This one I love because of the depth of field, the row of dogs in happy solidarity, after a good day's work. Interestingly, I took this with my $400 camera, and not my $4000 camera, because the latter had just filled up its memory card, and I was stuck with the backup. This little nikon never fails to impress.

3. This one kind of speaks for itself. Halfway up a snowbank, zonked, and beautifully camouflaged.

Mail run 2

A few more photographs from the events of yesterday. I had the chance to visit with some of the dogs after the last competitors had arrived; they were unfailingly friendly and SO soft.

Later in the day, I took my own two out for a walk, and they Sherlocked their way up the road, reading all of the wonderful, exciting scents left behind by the hundred or so dogs who had briefly called our street home.
