The last couple of days, I've been driving out to a cottage nearby, to feed and play with a couple of dogs, in my friend's absence. These two are Arthur (black) and Spencer (chocolate). Because it's so hot, we all headed straight for the lake to cool off. Poor Spencer was having a hard time with the deer flies; I remember our own Brown Dog, Mira, used to be a lightning rod for them as well, and Spencer, like Mira, was reminiscent of Charles Schultz' PigPen character, with his own personal swarm-halo wherever he went. Arthur is huge; nearly as big as me, and crazy for the water. When he shakes after (or during) a swim, the whole world knows about it.
My own two dogs certainly had lots of sniffing interrogation to do each time I returned.
