Passing the torch

The other day, I had the chance to spend some time with my 8 year old niece, Aidee, when we took the dogs out for a walk.

As usual, I was carrying cameras, and when we got to the dogs' swimming hole, I pulled out my large D4 plus a small D3200, which I often carry on walks and runs. Aidee was immediately interested, so I handed her the D3200 and gave her a few very basic instructions, and let her have at it. She was a natural with the camera, and her enthusiasm and excitement were not only delightful, but also a reminder to me of how much joy photography gives to me.

Here are some of the photos that Aidee took:

Oh my goodness - she is a natural. Great angles and reflections. She has an eye. She looks unhappy in the early photos and definitely gets happier. You may have started something wonderful!!

Sometimes we need a reminder of when, where and why we do things. Lovely photos you both took
