My friend Kim just brought home a new puppy, a schnauzer/poodle cross. Tentative name: Macy.
Sweetness!!!

Melville lives a few doors down from us, and he is often out in the yard when I go by with my two dogs. Mad barking ensues from all parties. The other day, however, I was sans dogs, walking with my camera, and Melville was at his contemplative best.

After losing all of its blossom (and future fruit) last year due to a late cold snap, our apple tree outdid itself this year, with an abundance of blossom. These pictures were taken over the course of a week or so, when it was at its peak. The blossom is well gone already, and the tiny fruits are already beginning to develop. I love that the little ''swatch'' at the bottom of the apple is the remnant and product of each of these beautiful flowers.
