My exercise equipment shares a room with my art studio and my ''Big Mac'' (desktop) computer as we call it. When I am sitting at the computer for long periods, editing photos, the dogs will more often than not take up residence on the treadmill (which is covered by a yoga mat for this very eventuality). Arwen's preferred spot is cuddled up with my shoes.

“contiguous, adj.
I felt silly for even mentioning it, but once I did, I knew I had to explain.
"When I was a kid, "I had this puzzle with all fifty states on it--you know, the kind where you have to fit them all together. And one day I got it in my head that California and Nevada were in love. If someone were drawing us from above as a map. that's what we'd look like; that's how we are."

It was such a simple scene, but bathed in the most beautiful light. Unfortunately, the deep contrasts between the golden light filtering through the uncurtained window and the deep shadows in the room were a significant challenge for the camera's exposure meter, but shooting in manual gave me the picture that I wanted. And then just as quickly as the moment happened, it was gone. Stripes lost patience and hopped off the bed, and left me with the hope that myself and the camera had recorded a semblance what my eyes had seen.
